Safe Schools

Seniors think about safety schools

while parents think about, Safe Schools

worried sick, about the hit list

circling online.

Duck and cover, run and hide

“Learning Equals the World's Newest Crime.”

A social contract ripped apart

piece by piece

schools lose their peace.

So now,

Exit signs mark my mind

making a mental map, so I can’t be trapped.

Behind a door,

Praying

to a god I don't believe in

For more

more life

more love,

for peace for all those we lost

So take it serious

Because every child

has its place

Tucked away,

safe in bed

With hearts full of love

And minds soaring into the clouds way above.

So let’s

Let love be love

And life be life

So mothers don’t go to bed crying at night
